“PARK(ing) Day: Providing temporary public open space . . . one parking spot at at time.
PARK(ing) Day is a annual open-source global event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public places. The project began in 2005 when Rebar, a San Francisco art and design studio, converted a single metered parking space into a temporary public park in downtown San Francisco. Since 2005, PARK(ing) Day has evolved into a global movement, with organizations and individuals (operating independently of Rebar but following an established set of guidelines) creating new forms of temporary public space in urban contexts around the world.
The mission of PARK(ing) Day is to call attention to the need for more urban open space, to generate critical debate around how public space is created and allocated, and to improve the quality of urban human habitat … at least until the meter runs out!” via http://parkingday.org/
Branch Out and the Green Light District will be partipating for the first time and we are very excited! So please come check it out September 16th from Noon to 5pm.
For the Ladies:
The Brrlin Boot! Isn’t that a cute name for a boot and an even cuter boot? Super comfortable and super cozy, the perfect go with anything boot.
Next up we have the Locomotion dress by Prairie Underground. This sleek stretchy denim number is so sexy! And it can be dressed up or down and can be the perfect transition piece from fall to winter.
For the Gents:
Another great shoe from Simple, the Over Easy. Available in hemp and suede. These cozy slip-ons are anything but simple with the great eco-friendly construction and the effortless style.
We also wanted to feature an old staple that we just love. The Unisex Rocky Eco-fleece Zip Hoodie. We are patiently awaiting fall over here so what better way to get excited then with the softest most snugly hoodie ever! We just love this thing, if you don’t own one already, you truly should.
Thanks for checking out of September picks and we hope to see you soon!
love, Lauren + Thiri
